This legislative change is part of a broader effort to improve the quality of life for Latvian citizens.

Starting from 1 January 2025, the childcare benefit increased to 500 euros for each child born during the same birth. This benefit is available for every child until they turn 18 and can be paid to both the mother and the father of the child. This increase is a significant step towards supporting families with multiple children, ensuring that they have the financial resources needed to provide for their children’s upbringing and education.

This legislative change is part of a broader effort to improve the quality of life for Latvian citizens. By increasing the childcare benefit, the government is taking concrete steps to support families.
