From 1 January 2024, Slovenia introduced significant changes in the field of supplementary insurance. This update aims to streamline the insurance process and ensure better regulation by the state.

Legislative Changes

  • Transition to State Regulation: Supplementary insurance will no longer be offered by private insurance companies. Instead, it will be managed by the Institute for Health Insurance of Slovenia (ZZZS).
  • Fixed Premium: The premium for this insurance is set at 35 EUR and will be deducted directly from employees’ salaries by their employers..

These changes are expected to simplify the supplementary insurance process and provide more consistent coverage for all citizens. For more information or any queries, please contact us.
