Prevention, early intervention and mental health support are increasingly important parts of a modern benefits strategy

Preventive healthcare is becoming a stronger priority in Ukraine’s health system. Since 1 January 2026, people aged 40 and over have been able to access basic health screening aimed at the early detection of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and mental health issues.

By the end of June 2026, the government programme, which provides UAH 2,000 per person, had already been used by more than 115,000 Ukrainians. That level of uptake suggests growing awareness of the value of early diagnosis, especially for conditions that can create long-term health, productivity and cost challenges if left untreated.

What this means for companies

Prevention, early intervention and mental health support are increasingly important parts of a modern benefits strategy – not only because they support employees, but because they help manage absence, long-term claims and workforce resilience.
