At GrECo we foster a culture of diversity and strongly believe it has an impact on our success.  It enables us to identify and focus on synergies rather than on the challenges it may pose.  We believe the management of diversity and inclusion to be part of our corporate social responsibility that no longer simply differentiates between people according to their social circumstances, ethnic or cultural background, gender and age.  Our heterogeneous workforce is international and comprises men and women from different generations, professions and educational backgrounds.  In 2024 we again invited our female colleagues to share their thoughts, challenges and aspirations.

Natalia Zaborovska, GrECo Group
Balancing work and personal life pose a personal challenge but also a journey of finding harmony, where dedication to both spheres becomes a testament to resilience and the pursuit of a fulfilling life.  We all have a lot of different challenges in life, and it is important that at work you have someone to lean on and learn from in all different aspects and I try to be a colleague who represents it. I don’t like the word mentoring and instead prefer to think about it as sponsoring, which for me means inspire the younger generation and empower women, by actively creating opportunities and support when needed.

Maria-Christina Sorko , GrECo Austria
When I started at GrECo at the end of last year, I not only embarked on a completely new journey in an industry that was previously unknown to me, but I also faced, for the first time, the challenge of balancing the joys of motherhood and the demands of professional life. But each morning, as I cycle to the office, the rhythm of my pedals serves as a reminder of the determination that drives me onward. As I navigate this chapter of my career, I’m fueled by the opportunity to learn, grow, and push harder to make a positive impact.

As a professional immersed in daily transport claims management, I encounter a myriad of challenges, inquiries, and complex scenarios from both clients and team members. Fulfilling the diverse needs of customers and effectively coordinating departmental operations demands unwavering presence and commitment. Despite the weighty responsibility, my drive remains steadfast. The pursuit of customer satisfaction and the cultivation of a motivated, results-oriented team propel me forward, compelling me to continually push boundaries and exceed expectations.

The best part of my job? Seeing both my team and our clients leave with smiles on their faces. At the end of the day, it’s all about making sure everyone’s happy and getting the job done right.

Considering I am a mother of two and that the office is not conveniently located near my residence, the transition to a hybrid work model, and the ability to work remotely makes everyday life easier.

Balancing business responsibilities with personal obligations can be particularly demanding for women, yet with the support of the right company and an exceptional team, nothing is impossible. I am fortunate to be part of such an organisation where mutual respect, understanding, and teamwork are not just values but a way of life. Together, we navigate the complexities of work and personal life, ensuring that both thrive harmoniously. I am proud to be a part of a family-oriented company that prioritises genuine values.

Branka Glišić, GrECo Tech Hub
In the insurance industry, it is vital to keep abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes. But rather than relying on myself, I prefer to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and team ownership. When each member of a team strives to be up-to-date and shares insights and experiences with others, it helps to improve decision-making and problem-solving.  When I talk about team, I am not just referring to my team in Belgrade, but to all the international teams I work with.

We achieve the best results when we work together towards a common goal, communicate openly, consider each other’s perspectives, and share our expertise.

Through perseverance, professionalism, and support from my team, I can fulfill my aspirations and only contribute to positive change.  My thoughts revolve around the complexity of risk, my challenges are sustainability in the face of strong competition and paying attention to today’s fast-evolving technology and innovation. As a woman in risk insurance, my big drive in my day-to-day work is to help clients effectively manage their risk and plan for the future.

The insurance/broker world has changed a lot over the years, and it is a challenge for me to adapt to it and stay up to date. Movement or physical work is the best way for me to recharge my batteries.

I love working in employee benefits because it makes me feel that I am really helping our employees to have stability and security.  I also believe that the work I do serves the interest of the employers, because a company in which the employees feel that they are being treated well is a company that will be more productive and profitable

I feel lucky that my work with GrECo allows me to maintain a healthy work – life balance. Yoga, teaching, beach-volleyball, friendship, mothering, and family are very important parts of my life. For those who, like me, choose to be engaged with varied pursuits, I really hope that they too can find an employer which allows for this.

Collaborating with colleagues from different departments, that represent the clients from many countries always creates interesting daily dynamics. There are multiple possibilities for applying our expertise in various business areas, as well as supporting both colleagues and clients with quality, and speed of their day-to-day business.

I appreciate the hybrid work model; it helps me immensely in managing my current life challenges. On the other side is the invaluable work environment, with the endless flow of smart, competent, and creative ideas and solutions, as well as wit and good humor, all which fuel further growth and ambition.

Svitlana Kiziak, GrECo Specialty GmbH
Due to my master’s degree in finance and based on my expertise and experience in the Ukrainian insurance market in motor vehicle underwriting and H&B insurance management, I now have the opportunity to expand my skills as an assistant at GrECo Specialty GmbH. My existing knowledge of three languages - Ukrainian, English, and Russian – helps me to delve deeper into all processes and high Western standards of ethics and business practices.

My motivation to support my teammates and business partners and to expand my personal network in the insurance industry comes from my curiosity to get to know new topics and tasks. Embedded in the diverse and appreciative culture at GrECo, I am also learning to appreciate the centuries-old Austrian culture that is connected to my homeland and have also begun to deepen my knowledge of German.
