As of 1st July 2024, Serbia implemented significant changes to its parental allowance system, as outlined in the Law on Financial Support for Families with Children. Designed to enhance support for families and improve demographic conditions in the country, these changes are expected to positively impact the reproductive population and increase birth rates in the country.
The new legislation stipulates that parental allowance will be provided to mothers for their first, second, third, and fourth children, provided they are citizens of the Republic of Serbia and reside within the country.
Parental allowance sums
- First child: A one-time payment of 380,161.59 dinars (approximately €3,300) will be provided.
- Second child: A total of 337,225.46 dinars (approximately €2,870) will be paid in 24 equal monthly instalments
- Third child: A total of 2,023,352.80 dinars (approximately €17,220) will be paid in 120 equal monthly instalments.
- Fourth child: A total of 3,035,029.19 dinars (approximately €25,830) will be paid in 120 equal monthly instalments
