Our Sustainability

We Care About Our Environment

At GrECo, we understand that sustainability is vital in addressing the pressing global challenges we face today and ensures a better future for generations to come.

As a family business, it is in our blood to take a long-term view and as such we are committed to passing on our values and beliefs from generation to generation. For us sustainability is not only a social obligation but also a strategic opportunity to create long-term value for our stakeholders.

Our Initiatives

We are deeply committed to caring for our environment and fostering a culture of sustainability among our employees. Recently, we embarked on a company-wide educational journey through the AXA Climate School, providing over 25 hours of self-paced study on climate change. By ensuring our employees are well-educated about climate change, we position GrECo as a thought leader in climate risk management and enable our team to collaborate and share best practices in addressing sustainability challenges.

We also have made significant strides in green mobility. In Austria 91% of our company car fleet are e-cars, with an overall ratio of 93% electrified vehicles when including plug-in hybrids. We provide incentives for using e-cars and have installed charging infrastructure at all our locations in Austria. We also cover the cost of annual travel cards for public transport and encourage working from home and using rail travel for defined distances.

Our people are the lifeblood of our business and play a crucial role in driving our sustainability efforts and championing our commitment to a greener future. Their dedication, creativity, and diverse perspectives enable us to tackle social challenges effectively and innovatively. That is why we invest in our employees, both as individuals and as a collective, ensuring they have the resources, support, and opportunities to grow and thrive. By nurturing their talents and fostering a culture of collaboration, we empower them to make a meaningful impact within the company and the wider community.

At GrECo, we are committed to the continuous growth and innovation of our workforce. We regularly introduce initiatives which empower our people at work and in their personal lives.  Find out more about a handful of our initiatives below:

Our Charitable Activities

The GrECo Foundation, established in 2005, operates as a non-profit branch of the GrECo Group. We are dedicated to supporting socially disadvantaged individuals, especially children and young people, across all 21 countries where we have a presence. The Foundation’s mission is to facilitate access to education and provide young people with long-term sustainable development opportunities, enhancing their future prospects.

From serving food to homeless people and wrapping Christmas presents for women and children in sheltered accommodation, to participating in sporting events and attending school lessons, our dedicated employees often get involved in the various projects and activities the Foundation supports.
