Strategic acquisition strengthens GrECo’s position in Slovenia and enhances service capabilities in key industries
GrECo, the leading independent risk consultant and insurance broker in Central and Eastern Europe, headquartered in Vienna, Austria, is pleased to announce the acquisition of SIPOS posredovanje zavarovanj d.o.o., a well-established, family-owned insurance broker based in Slovenia. This strategic move significantly strengthens GrECo’s market position and makes the company the market leader in corporate broking in Slovenia.
Founded in 2006 by Jurij Mravlja, SIPOS has been a trusted partner in the Slovenian corporate insurance market for nearly two decades. The company is particularly known for its expertise in public tenders, hospital insurance, and industrial sectors such as plastics, with strong capabilities in Property, General & Product Liability, and Motor Fleet insurance. SIPOS operates from Škofja Loka (soon to move to Kranj) and employs 8 professionals.
GrECo Slovenia, with offices in Ljubljana and Nova Gorica, employs 12 experts and has built a strong presence in the region. The combination of both companies results in a total turnover of over 2.5 million EUR in 2024 creating a powerful platform for future growth and innovation.
Damir Pelak, General Manager of GrECo Slovenia, commented: “This acquisition is a natural fit for GrECo. SIPOS brings deep local expertise, a strong client base, and a reputation for excellence. Together, we will lead the Slovenian corporate insurance market and continue to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions to our clients.”
Jurij Mravlja, Founder and Owner of SIPOS, added: “Joining forces with GrECo is a great opportunity for our clients and employees. We share the same values and commitment to service excellence. This partnership allows us to leverage GrECo’s international network and resources while continuing to provide the personal attention our clients value.”
This acquisition is part of GrECo’s broader strategy to expand its footprint across Central and Southeastern Europe. Following recent expansions into Greece, Cyprus, North Macedonia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, the integration of SIPOS further demonstrates GrECo’s commitment to local expertise backed by international strength.
