In April 2025, GrECo held its International division’s flagship Group conference in Warsaw in collaboration with our Health & Benefits specialty team. The event brought together colleagues from across CSEE. This milestone event not only celebrated GrECo’s collaborative culture but also fostered deeper communication and networking throughout our diverse teams.
A central highlight of the conference was Mark Wallert’s keynote, “Strength Through Crises,” which focused on resilience and the transformative power of teamwork. Wallert stressed the value of leveraging each team member’s strengths, building trust, and communicating openly to create effective, reliable teams.
Throughout the productive two-day event a number of key insights emerged – insights that are shaping how we, and our partners, support clients in the rapidly evolving world of work:
1. CSEE vs. Western Europe: A Tale of Two Speeds
One of the most discussed themes was the development of and future trends between CSEE and Western Europe. Monitoring different trends in the European insurance focusing on corporate business allows us to create opportunities for brokers to guide clients through transformation with tailored, region-specific strategies.
2. Global Trends, Local Impact
Our panel discussions with partner broker experts offered key insights into market development and consolidation – trends set to shape our industry’s future. We found that while global perspectives are vital, true success depends on adapting these to local realities. Brokers who can translate the best international practices into tailored, locally aware solutions will add the greatest value as strategic risk consultants.
3. Local minds make global strategies work.
Across International H&B teams, the message was clear: success lies in adapting – not adopting – global benefit trends. From GDPR to AML, brokers who tailor international best practices to local realities deliver the most value. The development of Global Benefit Management was discussed in-depth, with GrECo Group focusing on managing it internally.
4. Specialty thinking delivers sharper solutions.
Specialty isn’t just a department – it’s a mindset. By embedding deep industry expertise across our teams, we help clients navigate complex local challenges with precision. Whether it’s niche risk management, tailored placement, or strategic advisory, our Specialty approach ensures solutions that are not only expert-led, but business-ready.
5. Copilot in Action: Smarter Service, Faster Results
We’re early adopters of AI in the insurance industry. By integrating Copilot into our daily workflows to boost speed, clarity, and consistency – especially in complex, cross-border projects – we are streamlining internal collaboration and decision-making helping our teams respond faster, reduce errors, and deliver smarter, more tailored solutions.
6. Respect and clear communication build trust and power performance
We believe strong relationships start with how we work together. By fostering structured collaboration across borders – through regular touchpoints, active listening, and clear communication – we’re building a culture of respect that translates into faster responses, better ideas, and more consistent service. Respecting timelines, listening actively, and valuing each other’s contributions is the key to sucessful and trustful relationships. These behaviours create a more cohesive working environment not only within each of GrECo Group’s countries, but also across the Group as a whole and beyond with our partners across the world.
Why This Matters for Our Partners
The conference reaffirmed our belief that collaboration and knowledge-sharing across our network are essential to staying ahead. Whether advising clients in Vienna, Vilnius, or Valencia, these insights can help anticipate needs, shape conversations, and deliver solutions that are both globally informed and locally relevant.
