“After five years of working in our Group, I would say that our people and our culture make GrECo a unique place to work. One is surrounded by experts and the best talent in the risk and insurance industry gives everybody the feeling that nothing is impossible.” – interview with Markus Neubrand, our new Head of Mergers & Acquisitions.
Could you tell us a bit more about your new position at GrECo? What will be the main area of your focus?
Neubrand: Our Group has recognised the importance of our inorganic growth as a critical success factor in our development as one of the leading risk and insurance specialists in our region. As a result, I have the pleasure of leading our Mergers & Acquisitions group function from the beginning of 2024. I will be responsible for researching strategic investment areas, identifying M&A targets for the GrECo Group, initiating and acquiring such identified targets, overseeing the merger process and, where applicable, coordinating and overseeing the post-merger integration of the acquired target into the GrECo Group.
What makes GrECo a uniqe place to work at?
Neubrand: Born into the Neubrand family, I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be part of this group.
After five years in the Group, I would say that our people and our culture make GrECo a unique place to work. You are surrounded by experts, and the best talent in the risk and insurance industry gives everyone the feeling that nothing is impossible. This is because our Group attracts and retains the best talent. Secondly, I firmly believe that our Group offers each individual and each team a space for personal development and a breeding ground for sustainable work.
Which challenges do you expect in your new role?
Neubrand: As M&A management is one of the most complex areas of management, I am convinced that I will continue to face new challenges and problems over the years. However, I look forward to these challenges because I can rely on the extensive expertise that my colleagues and I have built up over the past 18 years since we started our M&A activities. I therefore see every challenge ahead as an opportunity for us to grow as a group.
Could you tell us a bit more about yourself outside of work? How do you like to spend your free time?
Neubrand: As a young father, it can sometimes be difficult to pursue personal hobbies. But this is quickly made up for by the wonderful family life. Like almost everyone in my family, I am a passionate hunter and try to spend a lot of time outdoors. I have also developed a passion for road cycling.
